Omg where do I start. Went in for oil change, tire rotation and to have my parking brake service which lit up. I was told I had to pay 384 dollars plus tax. Money isn’t the issue to pay so I said isn’t that supposed to be under warranty. Wesley said if it was never changed it should. Told him it never was. So he left and went to check the problem on the parking brake, come to find out it was replaced according to him. I told him it never was changed and how was it that I bought the car brand new and it has a replacement for the item. I told him we bought a 2016 Equinox brand new and in 2018 we traded in our car for a 2018 Traverse and then traded in for a 2023 Tahoe. All our cars were brand new not used and we have our records showing we only service our car at Chevy whether it be oil change, recalled etc. even when we needed new tires we bought it at Chevy not outside. Long story short Barry the service manager wanted me to pay for the parking brake item and they will do a warranty. I said no way am I going to pay for something someone who replaced it when we never even had a service on it. So Wesley came back and said they will just replaced it. Am thankful it was taken care of and not at my expense. It’s not about the money to pay for it, it’s about my car being serviced and I don’t know who replaced it when the car was supposed to be new and I have a part that I was never told or had a problem until it popped up letting me know to have it checked. I hope that it never happens to anyone because it has stressed me out that day.
